SpaceX is preparing to launch its powerful new Falcon Heavy rocket for the first time in November. The new rocket, which will be the most powerful operational rocket on Earth, has been hailed as the next major step towards sending humans to Mars.In a Tweet posted a few days ago, the private space firm announced that it had completed first-stage testing on the Falcon Heavy, meaning that everything should be on track for the upcoming launch.

Second only to the long-discontinued Saturn V rocket in terms of its capacity to lift payloads in to orbit, the Falcon Heavy is capable of launching 140,000 pounds of cargo in to space.
According to SpaceX, it will also be able to send 37,000 pounds of cargo and crew all the way to Mars.
