Residents of Teixeira de Freitas were treated to a rather unusual and unnerving spectacle this week. The menacing-looking phenomenon, which appeared on Thursday night, was soon the talk of the town as witnesses grabbed their mobile phones and uploaded images and videos on to social media.
Resembling something out of a scene from the movie Independence Day, the strange cloud formation only lasted for around four minutes before vanishing as quickly as it had appeared.One witness described it as “the entrance to a meteorite” while another called it “the work of God”.
